Where do you Tattoo?
I work out of Artful Dodger Tattoo in Seattle, WA (On Capitol Hill)
How long have you been tattooing?
I started tattooing as an apprentice in late 2008 and graduated my apprenticeship in 2010.
Where can I view your portfolio?
On either my Facebook Page or the ADTC Website
Do we have to have a consultation before my tattoo?
Consultations are required on a case-by-case basis, 95% of the time we can consult via email, but if you have a hard time articulating ideas through text you can always come by in person.
How do I book an appointment?
Email me directly (electricalivia(at)gmail.com) or through the website. If it’s convenient you’re always welcome to stop by the shop to book appointments.
What should I include in my email?
If possible, please include what you want to have done, where on your body you want it, and how large you want it to be (in inches, “medium” is not a size) any reference material you have for inspiration as well as when you are hoping to get started and your scheduling availability. Of course all of this info isn’t required right off the bat but it’s extremely helpful and will keep the back-and-forth to a minimum so we can get to business!
I emailed you and haven’t heard back, what should I do?
I of course try to respond to emails promptly, but I am a human, and a very forgetful one. I do have days off and sometimes will not check my email and enjoy my weekend, but if it’s been more than 5 days and you haven’t heard back from me feel free to forward your last email or give me a little nudge - I will never purposely leave you hanging.
How much do you charge?
I do have an hourly rate, but once we’ve ironed out a design I can give you a pretty accurate quote on how long it will take to tattoo. For specifics please email me, discussing money in front of other people is tacky.
Will you design me a tattoo to get done by another artist?
At this time NO. I do not have the time to take on additional drawings, but it’s not completely out of the question and when I have time I do take commissions for tattoo designs (which aren’t free, duh)
Do you do coverups?
My ability to cover up an old tattoo depends entirely on what you’re trying to cover up, please send me a picture of it or stop by the shop to discuss coverups!
Do you require a deposit for tattoo appointments?
Absolutely yes I do. The shop requires a small deposit to hold your appointment and I won’t draw you anything until it’s taken care of. We keep this policy very strict to keep booking fair.
Wait, what is a deposit?
A deposit is just what it sounds like, a deposit on your tattoo. When your tattoo is finished your deposit comes off of the price, so it’s like a discount at the end.
Do you have a waiting list/how far are you booked out?
My availability varies based on the time of year, typically there is a 2-4 week wait - sometimes less. I’m always willing to try to make room in my schedule for you if I can.
Do you only do custom tattoos?
The short answer is yes. I will not tattoo someone else’s tattoo on you (ever) and I will not tattoo artwork without permission from the artist (if possible, meaning only classic art is an exception) Some things like art from cartoons or comics, simple things no one can claim ownership of, etc are all fine. As an artist myself I fucking hate it to the moon and back when people tattoo my designs without having the courtesy of asking, I will not do that to another artist. If you’ve fallen in love with a design that isn’t your own we can work together to create something custom for you!
When are you coming to _________? Come to _______!!
Which just so you know, is a super lame way of asking if I’m ever coming to your town to tattoo! I don’t get a lot of chances to travel right now, but I have plans in the future to do a guest spot road trip from Seattle to New Orleans and take a different route on the way home, hitting as many states as possible. (I’ve always wanted to drive across the country and it’s really cool that I have a job that allows me to do that!) I will of course be posting about it all over Tumblr when I plan it, so don’t worry, you will know!
Feel free to leave any questions as a reply and I will answer them on this post or message you personally.
